Driver's license (Takeshi)

Takeshi is driving

Finally Takeshi got the driver's license. After some discussion with DMV(Department of Motor Vehicle), he could have the driving test by the date of expiration of the 1st paper test which he passed October last year. For the student whose age is between 16 to 20, it is needed to receive 10 hours of the excercise at a driving school and 60 hours exercise with the parent aside to have the driving test. They must have the driving test using their car which has insurance. (The amount of the money the parents must pay for the insurance is 5 times higher than that of the parents, eventhough the higher graded students can pay less.) Anyway, Takeshi started to go to school by car. First he drives the car to the high school. Then his farther goes to the school by bicycle, picks the car up and goes to his office by the car. Takeshi goes back to his house by bycycle..... So that Takeshi can exercise to drive and his farther can exercise his legs. This photo shows Takeshi is driving Honda Odyssey. There is a white card hung from the room mirror, it is a gift from his grandfather and the word "Attention!!" is written on it.

Homework of Mathematics (Haruka)

From September, the new semester has started. Haruka had been proposed to jump over 1 semester with the self learning between the summer vacation and had accepted. So he started to learn algebra. A homework of the algebra was the following question. It was difficult and a little bit funny question from the person who has learned math. in Japanese school. His farther thought 30 minutes, but couldn't answer because he didn't notice the key point which didn't stated in this description. Finally a young researcher of his company helped him. Please attack the questuion if you are good at Math. Enjoy!

"After Graduating from college, Miss Duffek took a job transporting diet Pepsi. She had to transport a supply of 3000 cans of Diet Pepsi to a atore 1000 miles away. Her truck carried a load of 1000 cans of Diet Pepsi. Miss Duffek loves Diet Pepsi.

Though she looks back fondly on her Pepsi delivery days(especially when faced with a stack of challenges to grade), Miss Duffek was unable keep the job. She had difficulty staying awake while driving. She found that drinking a diet Pepsi for every mile she drove kept her awake. In order to stay awake while driving she had to drink some of the supply of 3000 cans she was supposed to deliver.

What was the maximum number of cans Miss Duffek was able to transport to the store without falling asleep at the wheel?

Bonus

What if she had a supply of 4000 cans? How many of these could she have transported to the store? What about 5000 cans? 10,000 cans? Generalize for any multiple of 1000 cans."

Fisherman's Warf

Goldengate Bridge in Fog Alioto's

Toru has bought various types of lenses for the camera, like telephoto zoom lens(60mm-300mm:Macro available), zoom lens(35m-105mm:Macro available), wide lens(24mm) and doubler lens, because he had wants to have more telephotographic, more wide and more close-up photos when he traveld the "Grand Circle" this summer. To use those lenses as trial, he visited Fisherman's Warf in San Fransisco. He took the photo of Golden Gate Bridge with clouds and fogs using telephoto lens(Left) and a famous restaurant ALioto's from the opposite side of the road using zoom lens(Right). Toru and Junko took the lunch at the restaurant. The taste was so good.

Great America

Top Gun Great America Rip Roaring Rapids

Great America is famous for various screaming machines. They could enter that amusement park at the 3rd visit. Former 2 times they visited, the park was occupied by the companies which is going very well in this area. Left photo shows the roller coaster named Top Gun on which people don't have their seats but are hung. Takeshi enjoyed twice but Haruka gave up after the 1st trial. They said they couldn't stand normaly on the ground after getting off the coaster because they went in a spin at this spiral area. Right photo shows the boat going down a river named Rip-Rolling-Rapids. The audience can shower on the riders at this place by pushing the button(It costs 25 cents) so that audience can enjoy too. Takeshi and Haruka were showered. Very American!
