Toru Yamasaki
Toru was born in Matsue city(Partly in English) of Shimane prefecture on September 4, 1953. He moved to Kyoto city of Kyoto prefecture in 1972 and graduated from Super Fluidity/Conductivity Lab.(In Japanese), Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Kyoto University in 1977.At the same time, he moved to Kanagawa prefecture and joined Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.
He started his career in the Research of Electrophotography, but he changed his research area on 1983 and spent 10 years and more in the field of color input and color processing technology. He is the author of several papers and books . From 1993, he has been engaged to manage image processing, and after that, knowledge processing researches. In 1998, he moved to Research Planning division of Corporate Research Labs. to be a resident at FX Palo Alto Laboratory Inc.
He is now the Corporate Secretary and Research Planning Manager of FX Palo Alto Laboratory Inc.
He loves drinking liquors and hearing classic music.
Liquors and CDs
Toru drinks liquors not only at parties but also at his home everyday. He always drinks a can of beer as the starter, succeeding liquor depends on the type of dinner. After the dinner, he drinks brandy or whisky or barbon depending on a feeling.
