Sports Day and Graduate (Haruka)

This April Haruka started the last grade of the Japanese Junior High School and helped the administration on Sports Day with Junko(Left Photo). Of course, Haruka participated as a player too. He was a runner in a relay(Right Photo).

Haruka graduated the Middle School and will go to the High School which Takeshi is going to. This photo was taken after the graduation ceremony. Haruka has a certificate in his right hand.
 

Pow Wow and Flea Market (Toru, Junko)

Pow Wow is an exhibition of Native Indians to show their traditional dance(Photos are not allowed) in the campus of Stanford University. At that time, many stores sell their craft products(Left Photo). Toru and Junko bought an abstract mask based on their traditional design. On the other hand, flea markets are held every week here in this area. Toru and Junko visited the one held in the campus of Foothill College and got a silver spoon and wooden wine opener. Garage Sales and Flea markets are good examples that show the American's good habits to use products long. Another example of that is the houses. They live in houses that they repaint every few years and there are many old houses over 50 years aged.
